The Tour of Tameside
The event will begin on Friday 19th June, with a six mile fell race at Copley Leisure Centre in Stalybridge, followed by the Longdendale trail half marathon on Saturday. Runners who take on all three stages of the event will run the distance of a marathon over the three days.
The Tour will finish with a seven mile race around Hyde on Sunday 21st June.
After day 2 of the 2015 Tour of Tameside, reborn after a 14 year absence, we have Mohammad Abu Rezeq of Altrincham and District leading the men’s field and Kirsty Longley of Liverpool Pembroke leading the Ladies.
Mohammed won the second stage, the High Peak Half Marathon in a time of 1 hour 11 minutes and 31 seconds. John Gilbert came second with Gareth Raven third. Kirsty won the ladies category, followed by Caitlin Rice in second and Emma Finney in third.
