Race Date: Sunday 15 November 2015

The third fixture in this year’s SC league followed a few days of heavy rain and strong winds. The soft, muddy ground, coupled with a course re-design to include more climbs made it possibly the toughest race of the year so far – a fact reflected in the finishing times.

Striders again fielded complete teams in both the women’s and men’s races, meaning we maintained our strong challenge for promotion from Div 2. With one race remaining, Striders are in third place on 95 points, just 2 and 5 points respectively behind the leading clubs. With all to play for, a strong team at Askern should be enough to secure Div 1 status in 2016.

There were 116 finishers in the women’s race, won by Julie Briscoe (Guest) in 26:13. There were 164 finishers in the men’s race, with Jordon Bell (Sheffield Hallam University) streaking away to win by almost a minute in 37:02.
