SYCAA XC Fixture 1, Clifton Park Result

Race Date: Sunday 11th October 2015

A perfect autumnal day heralded the start of the SYCAA four race Cross Country series at Clifton Park in Rotherham.

It was fantastic to see so many Striders out there running XC and we are delighted to report that our ladies had the second highest turnout of the day of the 121 ladies that made up the senior race.

The winner of the ladies race as Ellen Downs of University of Sheffield in 18:11.

Jennifer Rich was first Strider home in 19th place in 20:32 with Nicola Ross close behind in 29th.

176 runners took part in the men’s senior race and it was fantastic that the 23 Striders that ran was easily the highest single club entry of the day.

The race was won by Bertie Houghton of Hallamshire Harriers in 25:54.  Adam Taylor ran really well to finish 16th in 28:39 to be first Strider home.
