Race Date: Sunday 11th October 2015
The monthly free run at Longshaw returned last Sunday and attracted a field of 86 runners. The cafe area was a hive of activity around 8.45am as runners registered for their numbers.
This was my second Trust 10 run, so I knew what to expect this time. I think the undulation and the terrain was a bit of a surprise to some people. This is a proper trail run, with different terrains to traverse. Unfortunately, the time when you could get the best view was the time when most concentration was needed underfoot to avoid falling flat on your face.
There was a good ding dong battle between a few Striders at the front of the pack. Phil did seem a bit peeved that Ben was eventually able to out pace him. However, Phil was well armed with a litany of excuses, at least 10 different ones I think.
The race was won by Andes Geiger in 39.46. First woman home was Kate Morris in 43.13.
