Race Date: Sunday 19th July 2015

Huge plaudits must go out to Striders’ Anthony Horstead and Lucy Smith for their efforts at the Iron Man UK event in Bolton last weekend. It is no mean feat to complete a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and then a 26.2 mile full marathon. The thought of it just gives me the heebie geebies.

There were 2157 entrants. The winner being David McNamee (GBR) in 8.46.37. First lady was Lucy Gossage (GBR) in 9.31.58.
