The SYCAA 5 mile race yesterday saw a club record broken.

No, not the club 5 mile mens and womens time records, but an attendance record.

There were 89 Striders running in club vests yesterday, which in the 33 year history of the club is unheard of at a single event.

A truly spectacular turnout and more than double what the club mustered this time last year at any of the 5 mile series.

You never know, with 3 races remaining in this years 5 mile series and being free entry for club members there’s a few more chances to nudge the record up a little more.

Is 100 Striders at one race possible?  That would make for one hell of a Striders finishing tunnel. 🙂
